DIRECTOR CHOOSEN: Prof. (Madya) Dato' Dr. A. Razak Mohaideen

Razak Mohaideen is become well known by the people after became a director for his second movie called Anak Mami the Movie and ‘Mami’ movie series. The director from Pulau Pinang start his career as a scriptwriter and debut as a director in his first film called Gemerlapan  about the life  college kids.  As an auteur, he often repeat same style of direct which more to the family life, comedy and romance theme such as a film Mami Jarum Junior and Cinta Kolestrol . He also had a few attempts to direct a mystery film such as 7 perhentian and Rasukan Ablasa.
Other than that, he always collab with a same actors such as Saiful Apek and Allahyarham Pak piee. It can be seen in a series of Mami movies there will always have Saiful Apek, and Allahyarham Pak Piee also act in Jutawan Fakir and Lady Boss. The miss-en-scene in his films is the setting that make his own movie interesting. Such as in Mami Jarum and other ‘Mami’ movie using same dialect from Pulau Pinang, the outfit that they used shows how the ‘Mami’ family love to show their jewelry and the place of shooting will show some of Pulau Pinang famous things and specialties to make sure people know that the story is based place at Pulau Pinang.
